My Story

The details

I used to eat really unhealthy before I started my health and fitness journey. I was what we call skinny fat. Even though I was happy with the way my body looked, I felt really unhealthy on the inside. The journey to find balance was not an easy one for me. I  started not caring about what I put in my body, to being overly strict with my diet, to having a binging disorder, to then finally finding balance and happiness. I know what it feels like to deal with guilt after eating and be uncomfortable around food. 

I remember one night getting home after a long day of studying for finals. I felt stressed and anxious. I got into my kitchen and  ate not only one, but two huge chocolate bars… I thought I would be able to only have a piece, but I quickly realized that I didn’t have control over my body anymore. The next day I would   feel hunted by the thought of going to the gym just to “burn off” the calories. The gym had become a punishment for me.

I was determined to find balance and stop identifying myself as having a binging disorder. I could not let myself keep going down the hole. After struggling for months to find a way out, I was finally able to overcome binging. Today I am grateful for the body I have, I live a balanced fitness lifestyle and my relationship with food and trainings has never been better. This brings me here today, I’m on a mission to empower women to find balance in their fitness and health journey.

I see fitness as a metaphor for life. I truly believe that it shows you how discipline and commitment are essential to get results. It teaches you the importance of perseverance to achieve a goal. Quickly you can realize that all these lessons can be applied to life, which means that mastering this aspect of your life could bring success to other areas of your life like your relationships, finances and career. 

Some people say that they hate working out, but I’ve come to realize is that it’s not so much about working out, it’s about working in. When you focus on your inner self and true purpose, the results follow naturally.

I truly believe that we have control over our own lives and we can achieve anything we set our mind to do.
